The Queerillas are a queerfeminist group for people of marginalized genders founded in June 2025. We strive for emancipation in every aspect - not only by ourselves, but also in supporting others in order to do so. We admire diversity within our group above all. We believe diversity improves our community and the effect we can have on society as we believe diversity has positive effect on society itself.
Our name is not an incident and not just a fun pun. Our primary goal is to provide a collaborative network to people, who love working spontaneously on problems. So we do mainly short-term projects, but might also setup some long-term projects or anything in between. We pop up if you name the problem and if it looks solvable to us, for us. Stuff can be super tiny or super big. Queerillas might only solve parts of a problem or dedicate their life on it.
We put our resources where we believe to actually have an impact. Preconditions for all we do are:
We won't save the world and we don't aim for that. But we strive for making small differences wherever it seems viable to us. Usually we are super content with 80/20 approaches. Problems hurt way less if the first 80% are achieved.
Since our goals can be pretty exhausting once in a while, we have some specific rules to protect the community from overcommitting and burning out. These are not optional, even if some of them might appear like nice to have things.
Right now we have a focus on technological emancipation, but we are open to other forms. This is just due to the fact we were emerged throughout a hacker event and the founders consist of technological versatile members with their interests and capabilities to support others accordingly.
